Where To Catch A Pikachu In Crystal

Among those who had the ganillas do a 30 day meme, that one had seen before to [info] joanne_distte and it seemed cool, and that waves of [info] insideblue work great, I decided to get wet and do not one but * two * 30 days memes: the books and movies.

Tremble, sailors.

The best movie ... the * best * movie. How are you able to say that a movie is the best? Do you look at the script, actors, costumes, setting, lights, pictures ...? How can you be sure that something is an address and some are actuación?

Since I can not be sure which is better, I'll have to talk about the two.

Milk, Gus Van Sant

spoke of it in an entry a while ago, when I finished watching it. I said exactly this, the movie, and I will use Summary:

one of these biopics is so common today, but about five years ago and tells the story of a gay activist who was the first to hold political office, having left the cabinet in the U.S.. Happens in the seventies (1970-1978), and according to my mother, a pretty good reflection of American society at the time. Basically, it was this man, Harvey Milk, the first fight because gays have a neighborhood in San Francisco whereGus Van Sant can understand it (I've only seen My Own Private Idaho apart from this, so you can compare it is not too much), I do not remember that MIP was the case. It is also true that I am not very picky about the speed of action, if the characters are well developed, and I dare say, with quality players you have Milk, are well developed. Sean Penn does a dramatic role, the way he acts, moves, speaks ... is completely different from other films I've seen. James Franco also seems excellent (ups. my soul .. hope turkey is not going too much at stake here) and Diego Luna, who appears fleetingly, unbelievably distress me, I guess it's a sign that also does well.

The other movie you want to talk about

Requiem for a Dream, Darren Aronofsky.

"Mother, what movie, what you say when you finish, completely undone.

The story is simple: four people, and how to destroy their dreams due to the drug. The first two are two young boys, Harry and Tyrone (played by Jared Leto and Marlon Wayans), who dream of getting rich and helping Marion, the girl, who rides his clothing store, and try to get selling heroin (and pricking the leftovers). The following is Harry's girlfriend (Jennifer Connelly), Marion, who wants to be a fashion designer, and is also addicted to heroin (although she sniffed, and that it is notoy quite sure whether or not heroin). And the last is the mother of Harry, a woman who lives alone in front of the television screen, watching shows every day, and whose dream is to get on TV. When you send a letter saying that you can go to a program, the woman becomes obsessed with being thin, and thus, is addicted to diet pills (amphetamines).

The film is shocking, devastating, and heartbreakingly good. The way in which it develops, how the dreams of the four characters are falling further and further into a tailspin, is incredibly accomplished. The direction, amazing. I saw a film of Aronofsky's The Fountain (with, ahem ahem, Rachel Weisz and Hugh Jackman pre-Wolverine), which is also a dand my favorite movies, but this is much more intense. And the soundtrack ... the sound of violins that you enter the brain and do not get:

Well ... going to sound bad, but I'd like
ended Martin Song of Ice and Fire "already." Or rather, I have a morbid curiosity about whether achieved or not (and I'm not talking about premature death).
of my favorite books are. Martin is in the Pantheon because I have not read anything of his, but could be fine. I hit a lot when I read them, and have made has had many interesting conversations, both with you, the people of LJ, as cenvelope more and more, and becomes more and bigger, and I think that Martin has created a little Frankenstein to be revenge on him and is going to swallow a mountain of paper, or it will not to find a convincing finish everything for us, the readers. Maybe began deflating strong and perhaps begin to have holes in the plot. I do not know, but I have a skeptical vein coming out in such cases.
That, or Mr. be satisfied, will cause the Cthulu is a return to the Seven Kingdoms and kill them all.
